How do you know that the stock, bond or security you are selling to your customers is "safe"?
How do you know that the portfolio of credits that you have under management is backed by the appropriate amount of assets?
And how do you know that the collateral of any product that you sold to a customer, or are managing is a viable security?
As of today, with the IT solutions we currently have... You don't know... And I don't know either.
So I am here today, not only because I don't want to be an excuse for any fight, but because I truly believe that the solution of that huge amount of risks is to be found among professionnals like you and me, by exchanging on the topic, working together, and sharing our research results.
If you have 5 customers, will it be difficult to control your investment?
Surely not, so obviously, we are here because we need something, which will allow us to count our customers by thousands and even billions without taking the risk to trash everything.
I adapted the Riimex Matrix to various sectors, including the energy, automotive and industrial areas of business, but for today, I will try to focus on the matrix dedicated to the bank and insurance sector because we are at a Brokerfeast celebration.
So this is the case of a portfolio of credits backed by life insurance contracts invested in various currencies, stocks, bonds, and securities.
And as we can see in the figures, our level of security will not only depend on the level of market fluctuations, but also on the ability of the company to constantly control the customers reimbursements, months after months, years after years... And we perfectly know that this is humanly impossible for thousands or millions of customers.
So the job of the Riimex Matrix will then be to build a correlation between the front, middle, back office systems and the accounting, financial and treasurery systems, in order to discover the risks on time, and be able to react before they turn to systemic or diplomatic crisis.
